E-TOLLS | LESUFI SETS R4BN ASIDE FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE

JOHANNESBURG - In two weeks when you drive under an e-toll gantry in Gauteng, you will no longer be charged.

National government has announced they will be switched off.

But the money for road maintenance must still come from somewhere.

The Gauteng Premier says R4-billion has been set aside.

"In the current budget fortunately we had foresight, we set an amount to really maintain those particular roads," he said.

"So in terms of the agreement that we've reached we have set aside almost R4-billion to maintain the roads, but at the same time expand them into the next phase as well."
